Centinela Hospital Medical Center was founded in 1924 as the 12-bed Milton Hospital. Later, the hospital has grown to become a 369-bed medical center.  A full-service, acute-care hospital, Centinela Hospital is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations and recognized nationally and internationally for its work in the area of orthopedic medicine. Centinela is the official hospital for the Los Angeles Dodgers, Lakers, Clippers, Sparks and the Avengers.

Centinela Hospital is owned and operated by Prime Healthcare Services, Inc. a progressive, innovative and rapidly expanding hospital management company in Southern California. Prime Healthcare Services was founded in 2001 by Prem Reddy, MD, FACC, FCCP, a cardiologist, entrepreneur and a dedicated philanthropist who serves are as its Chairman of the Board. Dr. Prem Reddy is Board-Certified in Internal Medicine and Cardiology.
